Privacy Policy
I encourage feedback on this site, and it is this human
element which will make this site successful.
However, privacy and decency are both extremely important to me and many
other people, so therefore when taking part in the interactive side of this
site please note the following "ground rules".
Guestbook
- If you sign the Guestbook, your name, website, verdict and comments
will all appear as you provide them, maybe with slight modifications for purely
technical reasons.
- If you supply an e-mail address, it must
be valid, otherwise please leave it blank. If given, your name will be made into
a link to a mailback form which will enable other visitors to contact you. Any
e-mails received from other visitors will be from the e-mail address they give on
the form and have a subject of "Contact from Extradisambiguator guestbook"
so you will know exactly how this person found you.
- Your e-mail address will not be displayed. It is held in the database and
will only ever be used for contacting you according to the description given above.
This is a safeguard to help prevent you from receiving spam messages.
Signing Up
- You must register to be able to make postings to the blogs, but you can
view it freely without becoming a member of this site.
- When you register, choose a screen name and supply a valid e-mail address.
Your first password will be e-mailed to you at that address, and you'll need that
password for your first login.
- If you lose or forget your password, you can re-request it
by specifying your screen name and e-mail address you used when you became a
member. The e-mail address you give at such a time is checked against that you used
when you registered, and if different the password will not be issued. This is to
safeguard your interests, so please make a note of the details used when signing up!
- The e-mail address you supply will only be used for the purposes outlined
above. You will not be signed up for any newsletters, spam, or any other unsolicited
e-mail.
- Your e-mail address will not be made available to any third party
organisation for any reasons at all, so you can be sure you won't be in
for bonus spam!
General
- Nothing you tell me, except what is clearly indicated in Guestbook or
blog postings, will be made available to anybody else.
I believe in confidentiality, so you can be assured that anything you
share with me will go no further without your permission.
- No ad hominem or offensive attacks on other members is
permitted. It is perfectly fine to disagree with another's ideas and
opinions, and it is this that makes for lively discussion. Telling
someone that they are an idiot is different from saying that they made
an idiotic remark! Such abuse will be removed.
- Any pornographic, offensive, silly or otherwise inappropriate
interaction is unwelcome and will be removed. Please don't waste your
time on such pointless communication. Believe me, it will take me far
less time to find and remove such entries than it will to make them,
so it will be these spammers who are the real losers!
- This site contains computer code that is designed to hide e-mail
addresses from "spambots" - programs that scour
websites harvesting e-mail address in order that they may be used by
spammers. Although this will greatly help should a spambot visit this
site, I cannot guarantee you won't receive any spam. Please
